Sunday Worship

First Community Worship
Sunday, 8:45 am, Sanctuary
You can come to First Community and expect an intimate, relaxed setting with worship led by our praise band. Dramas, video elements, and other creative expressions are often included as well. Come early to enjoy a cup of coffee and light breakfast in the Blue Room (beneath Sanctuary) before the service begins.

Traditional Worship
Sunday, 11 am, Sanctuary
In our traditional worship service, you can expect an inspiring, transcendent experience built upon the liturgical ritual and symbols of the great Christian tradition. The music in our traditional worship service features beautiful arrangements and familiar hymns led by our Sanctuary Choir and talented classical musicians. The service is also televised live on the local Fox affiliate.

Sunday School

Jesus taught us that how we love each other serves as a testimony to the world.  First Baptist Knoxville is committed to helping foster a healthy sense of community where we can be the presence of Christ to and with one another.

On our Children’s Ministry page (can PAGE be a link?) you will learn about our Sunday School opportunities for preschoolers and children through our Kids Connection.

On our Youth Ministry page (can PAGE be a link?) you will learn about the exciting discipleship opportunities we offer for those in Sixth through Twelfth grades.

On our Young Adult page (can PAGE be a link?) you will learn about the unique opportunities for college-age students and those in the early years of adult life.  This is a great place to share life and grow with those like you.

A friendly face will meet you in our Welcome Center and help you find just the right class for you.

The Bridge

Each Wednesday at 11:50 am, First Baptist Knoxville offers a lunch and Bible study for our community.  People come from downtown offices and from across the city, to join old and new friends for a time to connect and consider God’s word together.  The Bible studies are typical series-based studies designed to let us take a deeper look at a book of the Bible, or what Scripture has to say about a specific topic.  Recent series have included “A Grown-Up look at the Great Stories from Genesis” and “What the Bible says about Forgiveness.”  Upcoming series will include a study on the Holy Spirit, the great Exodus story, and stories from the road with Jesus.  Come and join us as we learn together.

Wednesday Night Bible Study

Wednesday nights are busy at First Baptist Knoxville.  We gather for dinner at 5 pm in our fellowship hall (Trentham Hall) and following dinner, our children and youth head out to their events for the evening.  At 6 pm the adults shift gears and join together for a large group Bible study.  The Bible studies are typical series-based studies designed to let us take a deeper look at a book of the Bible, or what Scripture has to say about a specific topic.  This is a great venue to get to know others from across the life of the church, and to grow in your understanding of the Bible.
